2 am Ideas and Jolts

It feels like 2 am. The pups are asleep on my feet and my hubby is snoring away. I know I should be asleep. 2 am is just too early to start the day. I can't hear anything but the consistent spin of the fan; as it turns into white noise my brain kicks into overdrive.
"What do people really want to know about? Is my vlog concept good enough this week? Have I thought everything through? When am I going to get my butt into my classroom? How should I set up? I need to go to Joann's. How am I going to get everything done? Don't forget to throw a load of Dryell the dryer first thing in the morning! Oh! I have an idea for a resource! I should write it down before I forget..."
Have I scared you away yet? Am I just "too" all over the place? Or is this normal?
I wake up every morning with the hopes of accomplishing four million different things. And yet, life keeps pulling me right to left, keeping my goals at bay. All of the sudden it is 11 o'clock at night and I'm dragging myself to bed. Three hours pass and... BAM! I'm up and my brain is thinking, planning, organizing all over again.
This is the mark of an obsessive person many would diagnose. I choose to take a positive spin on that very diagnosis: I'm passionate.
I want more than anything to be better than I was yesterday. And not just be better at one thing, but better at many things; each and every day.
I believe teachers are known for being selfless and caring beings. I feel this rings true for the countless number of teachers I have had the honor of knowing in my life this far. I've been a part of several teaching communities for some time now and the commonality of those groups is the immense amount of selflessness and dedication these teachers have each and every day.
Those nights of restless sleep and routine jolts of inspiration are the marks of a dedicated and passionate teacher. We love what we do and we strive to be better.
So I welcome the 2 am ideas and jolts with the hopes they will bring something new and wonderful to my classroom; with the hopes I can help others spark their passion, their dedication, and their dreams of being a TEACHER. ❤️
